Long-haul truck builder Peterbilt is hosting a competition that has crowdsourcing designers working remotely and at times cooperatively to design the long hauler of the 21st century.
The contest, perhaps the most controversial trucking decision since B.J. named his chimpanzee “the Bear,” has the same folks behind the Local Motor’s Rally Fighter (of Chandler, AZ) bringing their skills and magic to an industry that has not been fashionable since Billy Beer was on the shelves.
Designers have until June 26 to submit their plans to Peterbilt. Following nearly a month’s worth of voting, a winner will be announced on July 23.
